When you visit the Midwest Horse Fair, stop by the DDC booth located in the Coliseum with the other non-profit organizations. The Fair is held mid April at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Say hello to the friendly members at the booth and learn about their scheduled DDC events. Thank you to all the volunteers who made the 2008 Dairyland Driving Club booth a success. This year's terrific volunteers were Marge and Loren Gettelman (booth organizers), Robert and Mary Hathaway, Chad and Myrna Rhinehart, Tom Smiley, Linda Faiver, Larry Gage, Sherri Haviza, Linda Low, Lora Dadom, Marge Jansen, Adrian Roberg, Jean Forester, Dani Oster, Wendy Hyde-Smith, Jane Licht, Greg Ruder, Andy Halback, Donna Crossman, Kirk and Suzanne Gillespie, and Roger and Dana Houk. Volunteers received a $5.00 gift certificate in appreciation for their help. If you see these people, please extend your gratitude for a job well done.
Lots of people stopped by the booth and eight new family members joined our club: Cynthia Conley, Mary Ann and Chris Carter, Nolan Adrieene and family, Jane Liess, Patty and Katie Sumner, Bill and Darlene Vanderboom, Kristie Waldvogel, and Miranda Schoenecke. Please extend a warm welcome to these new members when you see them.
Three membership renewals were received during horse fair: Gary Somogji, Perry Maiers, and Howard and Becky Kietzke. Two people also registered for the Safety Clinic. There were various items for sale in the booth and a drawing (for members only) for an Anniversary Clock donated by Loren and Marge Gettelman and Michael Hennes of Plaques Plus. Winner of the drawing was Rod Sale.
