Treasurers Report presented by Nancy Nelson.
· There was a balance of $2,214.03 in the checkbook as of 5/4/09. She has saved the club $12 a month for changing our checking account to a non-profit organization account. The balance must remain above $100 to retain the status. She reinvested a CD of $5000 along with the interest for a term of 5 mo at a rate of 1.735%. With the interest that was incurred, the new CD is for $5678.15. Another $3300 CD will mature in September of 2010.
Secretary Report from March was approved.
Old Business
Newsletter/Web-site was presented by Jane Licht
· Jane only needed to make 48 hard copies of the Newsletter for $38.47, which was a reduction in numbers due to the availability of the NL off the website. Jane has made many updates on the webpage and encouraged everyone to browse the updates.
· She has pictures of DDC members from the drives and other events available for members viewing. June 1st will be the membership deadline to have names available in the 2009 membership listing.
ADS Young Drivers Camp Update- presented by Jane Licht
· They are still available slots for participants. May 31st will be a Mentors Meeting. Please contact Myrna Rinehart or Susie Koos-Ackers for more information. Loren informed us that there are many DDC hats, tote bags and buttons that have been floating around in the club for years. He would like to see the club donate some to the participants in the ADS Young Drivers Camp. This was approved.
Midwest Horse Fair - presented by Loren Gettelman
· Loren would like to see if spotlights can be added to the booth for some added lighting. Roger thought he might be able to come up with some lights before next year.
· Loren said the booth was another success. It was a great effort put on, once again by Loren and Marge and we thank them very much. Another big thank you to all of those that shared time at the booth.
· Several new members signed up and pins and manuals sold for an addition of approximately $251. Nancy will have an update at the next meeting.
Pleasure Drive Schedule- Presented by Roger Houk and Tom Smiley
· It was unfortunate that Old World Drive was canceled due to the weather once again! Maybe next year.
· There will be a Harry Radtke Memorial Drive to be held at the Didier Farm. The Didier’s have once again graciously opened up there farm for this great memorial. This will be an October Drive and dates will be posted on the Website. Roger thought everyone should wear bib overalls as that was Harry’s favorite attire.
New Business
· There will be a check for $500 that will be returned to NCDCA. This was from $841. , that was given to the club as seed money for future NCDCA events. They will be hosting a CAA conference/Learning weekend in 2011 in conjunction with the St. Paul Winter Carnival. They had only asked that at the time $500 to be returned and the extra as a donation to the club.
· It was discussed to update The DDC brochure (except for the darling picture of Cloud Crossman). Also a membership packet was discussed that may include a hat and other information to new members.
· Life membership options were discussed. Roger will research due fees from other clubs and this will be brought up at the annual meeting.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:30 Next meeting will be held July 7th.
Respectfully submitted,
Sheri Haviza, acting secretary
